Tuki.

Booking service for small tour operators

Your customers already have the app. It's WhatsApp.

Tuki takes tour bookings through ordinary WhatsApp conversations. A customer sends a message, Tuki checks your schedule and confirms the seats, and the booking appears in your calendar. No app to install, no forms to abandon.

How it works

A conversation becomes a booking. That's the whole product.

Tuki connects your tour schedule to a WhatsApp business number using the WhatsApp Business Platform. Everything below happens in one thread, in the customer's own language, in the app they check twenty times a day.

Step 1

A customer sends a message

They message your WhatsApp business number the way they'd message a friend: "Any space on Saturday's tour for two?" No account, no download, no booking form.

Step 2

Tuki checks and confirms

Tuki reads the request, checks it against your live schedule — capacity, departure times, weather holds — and replies with real availability. When the customer says yes, the seats are reserved and confirmed in the same thread.

Step 3

You see it in your schedule

The booking lands in your Tuki calendar with the customer's name, party size, and the conversation behind it. Reminders, changes, and cancellations all flow back through the same chat.

WhatsApp & your data

What Tuki does with WhatsApp messages — and what it never does

Tuki is built on Meta's WhatsApp Business Platform. We handle conversation data for exactly one purpose: providing the booking service described on this page to the tour operators who are our clients.

What we use

  • The content of booking conversations — to understand the request, answer with availability, and confirm or change bookings.
  • Customer name and phone number — to attach a booking to the right person and send reminders they've asked for.
  • Message delivery status — to know a confirmation actually reached the customer.
  • Booking details (tour, date, party size) — shown to the tour operator in their schedule.

What we never do

  • Sell or share conversation data with third parties.
  • Use messages for advertising or profiling of any kind.
  • Message customers who haven't messaged the business first or opted in.
  • Keep data longer than needed to provide the service. See the privacy policy.

For tour operators

Built for the operator with four boats, not four hundred.

Big booking platforms take commission and own your customer. Tuki is the opposite: your number, your customers, your schedule — with the busywork handled.

Fewer abandoned bookings

Most travellers give up somewhere between your website and a payment form. A WhatsApp thread has nothing to abandon — the question and the confirmation are ten seconds apart.

A schedule that fills itself in

Capacity, departures, and holds live in one calendar. Every confirmed conversation updates it, so you always know what tomorrow morning looks like.

Nothing to install, nothing to train

Your customers use WhatsApp they already have. You use a simple schedule in the browser. Setup is a conversation with us, not a software project.

Who we are

Codehuggers ehf ("we", "us") is an Icelandic company, registered at Midskogar 1, 225 Alftanes, Iceland. We provide Tuki, a booking service that lets tour operators (our clients) receive and manage bookings through the WhatsApp Business Platform. For personal data processed through Tuki, the tour operator is the data controller for their customer relationships and Codehuggers ehf acts as a processor on their behalf; for data about operators themselves and visitors to this website, Codehuggers ehf is the controller.

What data we process

Why and on what basis

We process this data solely to provide the booking service: answering availability questions, confirming and changing bookings, sending booking reminders the customer has requested, and showing operators their schedule. The legal basis is the performance of the booking the customer has requested (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)) and the operator's legitimate interest in managing their bookings (Art. 6(1)(f)). We do not use this data for advertising or profiling, and we do not sell it.

Messaging

Tuki only messages people who have first messaged a participating business on WhatsApp, or who have otherwise opted in to booking updates. Every conversation can be used to change or cancel a booking, and customers can stop messages at any time by saying so in the chat or blocking the number.

Where data lives and who sees it

Messages are transmitted through Meta's WhatsApp Business Platform and are subject to Meta's business data processing terms. Booking data is stored on infrastructure within the EEA. Data is visible only to the tour operator whose customer the data concerns and to us, to the extent needed to operate and support the service.

Retention

Booking records are kept for as long as the operator needs them for their bookings and any legal obligations (such as accounting), and are deleted when no longer needed. Conversation content is retained only as long as required to provide the service and handle the booking it concerns.

Your rights

Under the GDPR and the Icelandic Data Protection Act, you can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, object to processing, and lodge a complaint with the Icelandic Data Protection Authority (Persónuvernd). For requests about a booking, you can also contact the tour operator directly. To exercise any of these rights with us, email info@codehuggers.io.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will update this page and the date above.
